Ross County 0-1 Kilmarnock

How often have you heard commentators or attendees at any game, say that a 1-0 lead just isn't enough? Too often in the case for Kilmarnock, however today that scoreline was just enough to enable Kilmarnock to take all 3 points back to Ayrshire. Killie can't go boasting about it as County on a few occasions throughout the game - could have scored the equaliser.

This was as a result of and thanks to what could be, the fastest if not one of the fastest goals that Kilmarnock have scored this season.  James Fowler was the hero for the visitors, after about a minute and half on the clock.  The visitors did have the majority of the possession of the ball throughout the match, but alas Kilmarnock just could not capitalise on their lead.

You do have to feel for the Highlanders though, for the reason that they are flying this season, sitting 4th in the league table and 5 points behind their Highland rivals Inverness CT. Hearts are the hosts for the final game for County before the split and Hearts are a team, which Kilmarnock have beaten on every occasion this season. County on the other hand against the Tynecastle side have so far recorded just two draws. You never know as their loss to the Ayrshire men may just spur them on and make the result a more positive one.

The win for Killie does not allow the players to rest of their laurels but to prepare for the final two games before the split. The first is the midweek visit of St Mirren.
