Kilmarnock 1-1 St Mirren

Last nights game was a chance to be a step closer for the Ayrshire side to sealing that top six win. A win would also have been benefit for the Paisley team, as they want to distance themselves from the bottom spot in the league.  At the end of the 90 minutes - this was not to be. It ended a point a piece.

Just after half an hour had gone by of the first half, the Buddies showed how much this game meant to them and scored first through Goncalves. Goncalves was proved to the be the man to cause the home side severe problems.

According to the match statistics, the home side had the edge with regard to possession and shots on target but it did not change a thing, as shots and attempts from both sides came and went but neither side could transfer those opportunities into goals.

Because of the last nights result, this will mean a very intruiging, pulsating and hopefully for those attending the game on Saturday - an entertaining end before the split.

Kilmarnock sit just one point above the Dons and Dundee Utd who face each other at Tanadice on Saturday. The final game for Killie is against the bottom team, Dundee and it's a must win if they want to guarantee that 6th spot.

St Mirren on the other hand face Motherwell and even if they lose, they can actually consider themselves safe from the drop. They are 15 points ahead of Dundee, so there is not really anything for the Buddies to worry about.
