Gers down battling Killie in Scottish Cup

Despite the boys providing a battling performance, the team from Govan proved to be winners and go through to the next round. It's the same story with us and the old firm - we just don't have the squad to beat them yet. It seems that we did defend slightly better against the bluenosed men, as normally we would get beaten by a much heavier score.

Killie's first chance on goal came after only 8 minutes when Eremenko took a free kick, which then was crossed to Liam Kelly and his headed shot went into the back of the net, only to then be discarded for being offside.

Sissoko then fouled Steven Naismith who went to ground, but fortunely it was wasn't enough for the referee - which is true to say as he went down a tad too softly.

A short time later Andrew Little put a cracking shot from some way into the net that saw Rangers go 1-0 up. Getting near to half time saw a good shot from Pascali but it was saved by the Gers keeper. Half time: Kilmarnock 0-1 Rangers.

Shortly after the restart Killie could have scored the equaliser thanks to a rangers player, which was then closely followed by a shot from Connor Sammon went wide of the net. Pasca then had yet another shot went wide. So we're shooting but not quite close enough to the target.

More shots came and went for Killie but none could find the back of the net, so when Steven Naismith came up to give it try his shot went in - 2-0 Rangers.

Keep the faith folks as I believe one day we will do what we have always wanted to do.  Let them bicker, boast and brag till sundown. One day the blue and whites of Ayrshire's Finest footballing team will beat Rangers on a regular basis.  Our time will come!
