O'Leary Opts For Scotland

Kilmarnock youngster Ryan O'Leary - the son of former Ireland international Pierce and nephew of David - has opted against following his family members into the green of Ireland and declared for Scotland. O'Leary was named in Don Givens's Republic of Ireland under-21 squad for next week's invitational tournament in Madeira. However, Kilmarnock have contacted Givens to inform him that the Scottish-born youngster has instead thrown in his lot with his birthplace. The decision of the 19-year-old - who has started just one game for Killie this season - contrasts with that of two Scots-born youngsters who declared for Ireland: Celtic's Aiden McGeady and Jamie McCarthy of Hamilton.
