It's been a long time coming and there have been many guesses as to who will be Mixu Paatelainen's first signing as Kilmarnock Manager. Well today's the today and his first signing is Portuguese midfielder David Silva.
Silva came through the ranks of the FC Porto Youth Academy and he was released by his former club CSK Sofia just recently. He's 23 years old and he's a midfielder and can play in attack, which is something that our team has been lacking for a long time.
Paatelainen has said that he would like to make a few more signings as the squad is very thin at the moment, as a result of a number of players leaving the club in the past few months. He says he's closing in on a defender which our club also needs badly plus he hopes to add a centre-half very soon. It is obvious that Mixu is not done yet with bringing new faces in so let's hope that these new signings can show what they are best at at the start of the season.
