Kilmarnock in crisis?

Last updated : 15 June 2013 By Killie Kingdom

These are dark and worrying times for Scotland's Oldest Professional football club and this is a time, to be seriously concerned for the Killie faithful - no matter where you are in the world.

Manager Kenny Shiels is dismissed by Chairman Michael Johnston for supposedly football and disciplinary reasons, to which then he's quickly followed out the door by Assistant Manager Jimmy Nichol who transfers over to the east coast and joins Hibernians back coaching staff at East Road. With the club facing a potential crisis on many fronts, around 250 fans took the streets of Kilmarnock this week and headed to the Theatre to protest against the current regime.

In addition, today the Kilmarnock Football Club Supporters Association have held an urgent meeting at Rugby Park, to discuss various issues and vote on what should happen next. Many supporters have suggested boycotting season tickets, eating food at the stadium as well as buying club merchandise in order for Michael Johnston to be forced out.

To add to managerial worries there are also players out of contract, some of which now may or may not choose to re-sign with regard to the current problems at the club. Henning Berg and former player Alan Magic Johnston are in contention for the vacant managers post but in the meantime,

Solving these problems will not quick and easy.
