Farewell Mixu...

Last updated : 31 March 2011 By Killie Kingdom

Life at Kilmarnock Football Club will be a little different today somewhat, after Mixu Paatelainen left Rugby Park to take on a job which he found truly too good to put down.  Mixu is the new Finland manager and takes up national duties right away, therefore leaving the Ayrshire side to begin the search for a replacement. Kenny Shiels takes temporary charge until such a replacement is found.

Mixu will be missed because his in-depth knowledge and experience of football, practically transformed the squad. It saw more attractive, attacking and entertaining styles of play on the pitch and success was happening on a regular basis for the Rugby Park club. Paatelainen also brought in many more new signings,  in contrast to seasons past which proved to be almost an instant hit.

The Killie faithful had finally been given something to cheer and shout about but now the hunt is on for Mixu's successor - will he be as good as Mixu Paatelainen and carry on his winning achievements? Who knows.

Kilmarnock-Mad would like to say a huge thank you to Mixu Paatelainen for all the effort and time he has put in, to changing the team around and bringing long overdue success to the club. We wish him all the very best with his national side.
