For weeks we waited for a manager to be announced and now it's taken less time to appoint a new assistant manager to Mixu. Kenny Shiels has been appointed new Assistant Manager to Mixu Paatalinen.

Kenny is the former Head of Youth at Tranmere Rovers which the club should find a definite decent signing, due to the fact that we have a lot of young players at our club.  So his knowledge and understanding of youth should enable us to bring more of our youth players through to the first team.

He is also a UEFA Pro-Licence Holder. For those are not aware of what this is - the UEFA Pro-Licence is the final coaching qualification, that anyone must gain in order to be properly qualified to manage a football club within any nation's top-level league system on a permanent basis. This applies to both the head coach and team manager.

Kilmarnock-Mad would like to welcome Kenny to Ayrshire's Finest football club and hope that he enjoys his time on the hallowed turf at Rugby Park.
