Jefferies told The Daily Record. "He wasn't feeling too bad after the Aberdeen game but when the bruising cleared up he was still getting a bit of pain whenever the physio touched it.
"So we sent him for another scan and it showed up a crack in his foot. "It just seems to be the way things are going for us this season - whenever we get a player back we seem to lose another one."
