Gary McSwegan has signed for First Division Ross County in preference to a new six month deal offered by Kilmarnock.

The striker, who has operated on a series of short term deals at Rugby Park, has negotiated a three year deal with the progressive Victoria Park outfit which will lead to a coaching position.

McSwegan struggled to win over the Kilmarnock supporters but four goals in a 6-2 demolition of Bobby Williamson's Hibernian finally saw him accepted. He proved to be an excellent foil for Kris Boyd, his unselfish lay-offs and movement off the ball creating many goal scoring opportunities for his young partner.
