Team News Ahead of the SPL Opener at Ibrox...

Last updated : 13 August 2010 By Killie Kingdom

Howdy folks,

Here is the team news for Kilmarnock's opening fixture of the new season, at Ibrox to face the blue filth that is Rangers!

Andy Webster and John Fleck are on the sidelines for Rangers, due to hamstring injuries while Lee McCulloch is suspended (no surprises there then). This could pave the way for new signing James Beattie to make his debut in this game.

For Kilmarnock, Medhi Taouil and goalkeeper Alan Combe are sidelined after having double hernia surgery. This could mean that regular goalkeeper Cameron Bell or recent signing Kyle Letheren could make his debut between the sticks.

TEAM SELECTION

RANGERS: McGregor, Whittaker, Broadfoot, Bougherra, Weir, Papac, Edu, Davis, Naismith, Lafferty, Miller, Beattie, Little, Wylde, Hutton, Shinnie, McMillan, Alexander.

KILMARNOCK: Bell, Clancy, Hay, Wright, O'Leary, Fowler, Pascali, Bryson, Old, Owens, Sammon, Kelly, Hamill, Sissoko, Silva, Gordon, Davidson, Letheren.

The big kick-off for the new season is finally here! Come 3pm tomorrow (Saturday), two teams will walk out onto the Ibrox pitch and hope to win one of the first games to kick-off in the new season.  Hopefully Ayrshire's Finest will do everything they can to spoil the Ibrox clubs' "Flag Day" - fingers crossed!

MON THE KILLIE!
