Samson recalled from loan spell

Kilmarnock recalled Craig Samson from his loan spell with Queen of the South sparking concerns over regular No 1 Alan Combe's fitness ahead of Saturday's trip to Celtic.

Regular standby keeper Graeme Smith played the full ninety minutes of the reserve match against the Parkhead side and showed no sign of injury. Under nineteen keeper Cameron Bell sat on the bench, and Jim Jefferies may be unwilling to risk having the youngster as substitute at Parkhead.

Losing Combe would be a huge blow to Killie, as the keeper has been impressive all season. Smith and Samson are able deputies, but this is perhaps the last fixture in which the manager would want to pitch either youngster.

Killie haven't registered a win at Celtic Park for almost fifty years, but go to Glasgow this time with confidence high after an excellent start to the current campaign. Celtic's recent jaded performances mean that the recent ring of invincibility has slipped, but Jefferies knows that it will still take the finest performance of the season so far to end this miserable record.
