PROVING THE CRITICS WRONG

Jim Jefferies looked back on a great week's work and revealed how much pleasure he is taking in proving his doubters wrong.

His week didn't start too positively with a disappointing draw against Inverness, but victories over Motherwell and Hibernian, both teams having been ahead of Killie in the league last weekend, have seen his side level with Hearts in fourth place.

"We're proving a few people wrong" he said after the Hibs match. "And we're not just digging out results, we're playing some good stuff and entertaining people. We're making a laughing stock of people who fancied us for relegation."

Striker Craig Dargo notched his first goal of the season, and was delighted to finally break his duck. "It was preying on my mind, but as a striker you can't get too concerned about when the next goal is coming."

He also revealed that he would like Hearts to appoint a new manager quickly before Jefferies is touted as a candidate. "I'm sure they would consider him after he did so well when he was at Hearts, but we don't want him to go. He's building a good squad here."
