KILMARNOCK star Steven Naismith has joined the ranks of Scottish football royalty after landing MailSport's coveted Starcheck award.
The 20-year-old striker showed why he is one of the SPL's hottest properties by claiming our respected prize on its 25th anniversary.
Aberdeen legend Willie Miller was the first Starcheck king in 1983 and held on to the award for the next two seasons as well. Other memorable winners include Jim Leighton, Paul McStay, Terry Butcher, Brian Laudrup and Henrik Larsson.

And Naismith was delighted after being presented with the famous silver salver plus a crystal decanter and glasses. He said: "So many Scottish football greats have won this award and I feel honoured to follow in the footsteps of these world-class players.
"The Sunday Mail Starcheck Player of the Year award is a special prize to win. "
