Kilmarnock v Dundee Match Preview

Last updated : 05 April 2013 By Killie Kingdom

Here we are - the final game before the split.  What an exciting and entertaining game it could turn out to be!

Due to the recent draw with St Mirren - there is no letting up how vital this game is for the Ayrshire men, if they are to hold onto that sixth place in the league. Looking over Kilmarnock's shoulder is Aberdeen, Dundee Utd (both a point behind) and Hibs who are two points behind.  This will be a very tense and nervous game for all four teams involved on Saturday.

There is even more strain for the men at Dens Park.  Dundee are sitting bottom of the table, a massive fifteen points behind Hearts, and are the most likely to fall back down to the 1st Division. You could even say that this game and every game after it, will be being treated as a cup final for the men of Dens Park.

Both teams need a good outcome and both teams will be looking for that all important winning goal, should Dundee win it is 3 points to take back to Tayside but it should raise their spirits. Kilmarnock must also win to prevent the Dons, Tangerines and Hibbees from taking over that last spot in the top six.

The home side are without Manuel Pascali, James Dayton and Rory McKeown, while Rory McKenzie is a doubt. For Dundee, Gary Irvine is suspended, Rab Douglas, Stephen O'Donnell and Jamie McCluskey are on the sidelines.

Recent games between the two sides show that it's even stevens with two 0-0 draws, so what will happen this time? Who knows but we'll find out come around 5.50pm tomorrow.
