KILLIE NOT THE WEAKEST LINK BUT LEAVE WITH NOTHING

Killie showed once again that they are a team to be reckoned with this season as they out-played Celtic for long periods on Sunday without being able to make the breakthrough they deserved.

And an excellent team performance was achieved due to a copuple of outstanding individual displays. Allan Johnston's magic in the middle of the pitch left Stilian Petrov and Neil Lennon kicking fresh air and Gary McDonald's switch to the right hand side allowed him to augment the attack regularly for the first time in weeks, but for me Steven Naismith's performance proved once again that he is the outstanding teenager in the country.

Bobo Balde had no answer to his speed over the ground or his speed of thought and was reduced to fouling him continuously. The Celtic fans even paid him the ultimate compliment of booing him every time he touched the ball, because they knew he had the capability of hurting them.

Remember Alex Burke, though. He burst onto the scene with breath-taking display after breath-taking display and was the most exciting winger we've seen at Rugby Park for decades. We al thought he would be playing in the Premiership by now, but a lack of off the field guidance meant he lost his way as dramatically as he seemed to find it. Naisy seems more level headed and sensible, but he's got a bit to learn yet, but he could be a true Killie legend.
