Killie can't switch off - Jefferies

He believes their season has already been a success, having reached the CIS Insurance Cup final and booked their place in the top six of the SPL before the league split. But Jefferies insists there is still more to play for and has urged his Killie players to end the season on a high, starting at Fir Park. "We've been in a cup final and we're in the top six," he said. "And people will start to ask whether the players will switch off now. "But you only have to look at the attitude and passion on Saturday against Aberdeen to see that's not going to be the case. "We want to finish as high as possible. We were fifth last year and we have to ask: Can we do it again? "They are all hard games between now and the end of the season. But, if we can finish fifth as well as being in a cup final, it will be an excellent season for us. That's what we need to aim for." There is also the small matter of a revenge mission on Tuesday night. Kilmarnock suffered a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Motherwell the last time the two clubs met at Fir Park. And Jefferies insists it is time to make amends for one of their heaviest defeats of the season. He added: "They gave us a right going over at Fir Park the last time so we have a bit of making up to do for that result. "They are a hard team to beat at home but we need to learn lessons from the last game there. "They got a decent result at the weekend against Dunfermline so it's not going to be the easiest of games. "But both teams like to get the ball down and play so it should be an entertaining game."
