JOHNSTON AIMING FOR HEART ATTACK

Kilmarnock winger Allan Johnston comes face to face with the side where he made his breakthrough at Rugby Park on Saturday and he is desperate to make his mark.

"Stick" as he is known to his team-mates has seen his form and fitness improve since his introduction to the Killie first team and he feels there is only one thing missing.

"I'm really enjoying it here, but I'm desperate for a goal" he told KillieMad, "and it would be great to score against Hearts."

Johnston was speaking at the launch of a limited edition strip commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the winning of the League championship.

The launch was bittersweet for manager Jim Jefferies as 24th April 1965 goes down as the day of one of his biggest disappointments. "Everybody knows I was a Hearts fan, the whole family was, and I went to Tynecastle to see them win the league, but Kilmarnock did what they had to do. They were a very good side then, with some very good players."
