Killie boss Jim Jefferies was pleased his side regained their composure after a scrappy opening. He said: "I stressed at half-time we needed to win this game. We expected St Mirren to compete and close us down. Last time they gave us a lot of trouble. "It wasn't until 25 minutes we put our best move together. That showed if we got it down and passed it we could cause problems. "The second half was a good performance, getting the first goal was important because St Mirren had to take a wee chance or two. "We had one or two great moves before the second goal."
