Kilmarnock have made an offer to Hearts out-of-contract midfielder Scott Severin.  Chairman Jamie Moffat confirmed that Severin is one of several players targeted by Jim Jefferies.

"Severin is definitely a type of player that we are looking for and there is dialogue with Jim and his agent."

Dave MacKinnon confirmed that cash-rich English Third Division side Boston United are also interested, but is confident that Killie will win the chase.

" Scott is eager to get back into the Scotland squad, and there is more chance of that happening here than at Boston."

Severin would add to the list of Killie players Jefferies knows from his time as Hearts boss, following Gary Locke, Gary McSwegan and Steve Fulton.

Meanwhile MacKinnon confirmed that finding a dominant goalkeeper was still a priority, he denied that Hibs Keeper Nick Colgan has also been offered a deal.

"We are looking at a number of keepers, at various stages of their careers, but they are all big personalities."
