BOYD RANGERS LINK "SPECULATIVE" - SPARKES

Kris Boyd's agent Raymond Sparkes admitted yesterday that he "expects a number of offers" to be tabled for Scotland's leading scorer in the January transfer window.

And he added that there has been no deal done with Rangers.

Just as we said at Killie-Mad, the newspaper talk linking Boyd to Ibrox was groundless, and that the English Championship is a much more likely destination. "The talk of a move to Rangers was just speculative" Sparkes told BBC Scotland.

All of this will be great news for chairman Michael Johnston who would warmly welcome a bidding war which could see the 14 goal hitman's price rise close to the £500,000 accepted in August from Cardiff City.

Boyd's stated target for the season has always been to top his tally for last year, and who knows, on his current form he may achieve that before his inevitable move in the New Year.
