BIG GAMES KEEP ON COMING

Saturday's short trip to Motherwell promises an open attacking game between two closely matched sides.

The games against Celtic and Rangers provide the big gates and the memorable scorelines, for Killie it is this type of match that determines our final league position. Defeat on Saturday would see 'Well overtake us in the table, while victory would cement our current fifth position and pressurise Rangers ahead of us.

Both sides have potent forward players and have witnessed plenty of goals so far this season. Terry Butcher joked yesterday that it "will probably be nil-nil", but goals are surely guaranteed.

Kris Boyd is the talk of the tabloids just now, Killie fans should be thankful that Alex McLeish's jacket is on such a shoogly nail and that Hearts' ritual Hari-kari is keeping the newspapers occupied otherwise the striker would be getting put in a Rangers shirt at every oportunity, and he will be looking to hit the top of the scoring charts. Another couple on Saturday would do very nicely.

It was good to see Billy Brown praising the wing backs Garry Hay and James Fowler during the week as these guys have been playing the best football of their careers so far this season.

It will be interesting again to see who wears the gloves this weekend. Alan Combe is fully fit again, but Graeme Smith will expect to stay in the team, especially after his penalty save kept Aberdeen at bay last weekend.

Killie are plaing well just now, and I predict an away win by either 3-1 or 3-2.
