Ayrshire's Finest's first game of the season is away to the Granite City, to face Aberdeen in Pittodrie. From all the meetings between the two sides last season, Kilmarnock won one, lost two and drawn one game. So it would be obvious to every one of the Kilmarnock faithful, that those statistics must improve and this is season that it must happen in.
The Ayrshire club have had a horrible close season, Kenny Shiels was sacked, Hooky Hay was dropped in a dispicable way after his loyal 18 years at Rugby Park then Magic Johnston came in with his assistant Sandy Clark from Queen of the South - in addition compensation has yet to be sent to the Dumfrieshire club.
Can Magic get off to a winning start? Who knows but one can only remain positive.
Team news then and the Dons have a two players on the sidelines for this game. Those being Chris Clark and Andrew Considine meanwhile Calvin Zola has recovered from his injury and may feature for the match. Kilmarnock also have two players out - Captain Manuel Pascali with his broken leg and Sammy Clingan. Kris Boyd may start the match.
