A Kevin Kyle double and a cool finish from Jamie Hamill gave Killie the perfect start to the new season.

Conor Sammon looked lively and he had the first chance to score when he outmuscled the veteran Marvin Andrews. He was one on one with Thomas Cerny and tried to find the far corner, but blazed his effort high.

Andrews found space at the far post from a corner in the 15th minute, and he powered a header, but it bounced wide of goal.

Cammy Bell marked his first SPL start with a good save in the 26th minute when he touched Richard Offiong's shot away at full stretch.

The Killie fans nerves were getting frayed, but Kyle stepped up to settle them in the 34th minute. Garry Hay flighted a perfect cross to the far post where Kyle was left unmarked to poke the ball past the keeper from close range.

His second goal came 6 minutes into the second half when he picked up a loose ball 30 yards out, looked up and sent a bullet shot past the helpless keeper.

Sammon did well to spot Jamie Hamill in acres of space in the 68th minute and the midfielder calmly slotted the ball home for number three.

Offiong hit the post for Accies late on, bu the result was never in doubt.
